Lobethal Recreation Ground

The Lobethal Tennis Club is part of the Lobethal Recreation Ground that offers active sport for the whole family all in the one grounds.  There are 4 hard surface courts with flood lights for night tennis and training.  The courts were resurfaced in Australian Blue in November 2016 with new nets and posts.

The Club is affiliated under the Hills Tennis Association and also affiliated with Tennis SA.  Match games are played on Tuesday nights for the evening competitions, Saturday mornings for Juniors and Saturday afternoons for Seniors.

Membership rates are competitive and the entity is a not for profit organisation and there are no paid committee members.  All funds raised for the club are retained and put back into club development and tennis competition.

The club offers Junior competitions for ages 8 to 17, Hot Shots tennis programs and Orange Ball programs are co-ordinated on demand for the young players & Senior Saturday competition is graded and is open to all skill levels including doubles, singles and traditional teams.

Hot shots

Hot Shots is a modified beginner tennis program ideally suited to 5-8 year olds.  The 2021/22 season was well attended and the kids just loved it.  All equipment incl specific Hot Shots rackets are supplied. We are registered with ANZ Hot Shots, which will commence in November and run for 10 weeks with a break over Xmas.

It generally runs for 5 weeks and then breaks over the summer holidays and recommences for the final 5 weeks in February. If you have any budding players excited to get out on the court and follow in Mum or Dad’s footsteps or begin the tradition you’re your family, register them for Hot Shots.

Group numbers are ideally 6-10 with a charge of $75 per child.  If your child is interested to try tennis without the competition please email players@lobethaltennisclub.org   Hot shots can be subsidized with the Sports Voucher program.

Roles of Honor

The Lobethal Tennis Club is a not for profit club that is run on the contribution of its community involvement.  The annual elected committee do not receive any payment nor do they receive any discounts on membership fees or tennis subs.  The Committee position is a role of honor and whilst the club dates back to 1901, the recorded names at the time of research are on the attached document.  Should you have further information on names dates of service etc.  we would be happy to place their name up.
